Tobacco advertising,environmental smoking bans,and smoking in Chinese urban areas

  Tobacco advertising,environmental smoking bans,and smoking in Chinese urban areas was written by Tingzhong Yang,the Director of the Center for Tobacco Control Research,Zhejiang University School of Medicine.It was published in the Drug and Alcohol Dependence on 21 December 2011.
  This paper used a population-based cross-sectional study to evaluate whether cigarette smoking in Chinese urban areas was respectively associate with exposure to tobacco advertising and smoking bans in household,workplaces,and public places.
   Results showed that smoking prevalence was 30%,and smoking was positively associated with exposure to tobacco advertising,and negatively associate with workplace and household smoking bans.
   The association of smoking with both tobacco advertising and environmental smoking bans further justifies implementation of comprehensive smoking interventions and tobacco control programs in China.
